Show Notes

How familiar are you with your overall metabolic health?

Metabolic health is essentially your body's ability to make energy from the food that you eat and support optimal organ function. It starts with your metabolism, which is responsible for breaking down your foods and creating energy, rather than storing it as fat.

But, you don't have to have diabetes or be overweight to have poor metabolic health (as I discovered). You could be in your mid 30's and be a normal weight, and still consistently experience blood sugar spikes throughout the day from lifestyle, diet, or other factors.

Here are some symptoms that can be signs of poor metabolic health:

  • Low energy
  • Erratic appetite
  • Unstable mood
  • Joint or muscle pain
  • Poor sleep
  • Inability to lose stubborn weight

Regardless if weight loss is a goal or yours or not, this episode is a must if you are not familiar with your own metabolic health. Poor metabolic health is linked to 90% of all prevalent diseases today.

Topics discussed:

  • How stress affects blood sugar
  • Why you need to care about your metabolic health
  • How to test your metabolic health with simple blood work
  • Symptoms of poor Metabolic Health
  • Why fasting can still lead to high blood sugar
  • The dangers of low-carb diets as it relates to blood sugar + muscle loss
  • How insulin sensitivity can cause Type 2 Diabetes even in thin people
